RESUMPTION OF TOURIST VISA

In pursuance of guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the High Commission of India, Port Moresby is pleased to announce the resumption of tourist visas as per the following details:

  • a) Foreign Nationals intending to visit Indian for tourism purposes will be allowed to enter into India on e-Tourist Visa/Tourist Visa through chartered flights (for group tourism only) from 15.10.2021.

  • b) All individual foreign nationals intending to travel to India for tourism purposes would be permitted to enter India from 15 November 2021


2. The above-mentioned foreign nationals would be required to obtain either a fresh e-Tourist Visa by applying online at

https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/

These visas will be issued for a period of 30 days with single-entry. Such foreign nationals shall be permitted to enter India by sea routes/flights but not through land Immigration Check Points (ICPs).

3. Existing valid e-Tourist visa/Regular Tourist visa remain suspended. Such individuals intending to enter India are required to obtain a Fresh Tourist Visa.

4. The first 5,00,000 tourist visas would be issued on ‘GRATIS’ basis and admissible only once per tourist

Advisory on Carrying Satellite Phones
Under Section 6 of the Indian Wireless Act and Section 20 of Indian Telegraph Act carrying/use of satellite phones, by foreign nationals (irrespective of category of passport) without prior approval, is illegal/unauthorized.
